We worked through Day 3 of Centers this morning.
We then tackled some Problem Solving after recess. Students continued to work with their partner on the problem solver that we started last week.
We then continued to discuss how to use conclusions at the end of our writing. Students worked in partners to create new conclusions for two children's books. Students will be working on a writing assignment that will tie all of our focuses together: leads, beginning/middle/end, detail, transition words, and conclusions.
We started off our afternoon with Math Pods. At stations 1 and 2, students worked with geoboards to create a variety of rectangles based on given area, or given perimeter and area. These are homework if not completed in class. The third station was on the computers where students could choose from any of the the blog links.
I forgot to mention to students that they will need to bring a box to school as soon as possible. Please do not send anything that is larger than a shoe box. Smaller boxes are excellent as well. We will be using these to explore with volume!
Our day finished up with Phys Ed and read aloud.
