Students began working on a partner poem that incorporates both students' voices.
After lunch, we discussed the remaining definitions in our Geometry Dictionairies and used these definitions to help complete numbers 1,3,5,6, and 7 on page 232 and 233.
Our Social Studies test has been bumped back until Tuesday, March 31 as we had some students absent today for the review. The Explorer unit review is due on Monday, March 30.

We began another week with Day 1 of a new set of Centers. Students have been working extremely hard on the many short stories we have been concentrating on.
We reviewed one of the problems that we completed last week using the Use or Make a Picture or Diagram strategy. Great job on this problem ladies and gentlement!!
After lunch we worked in partners to complete the Explore activity on page 222 in our text. Students used Geoboards to create shapes that followed specific rules. We then took the remainder of the class to define perpendicular, horizontal, vertical, and right angle in our Geometry Dictionaries.
Students did an excellent job presenting their Diary of an Explorer assignment. Great job in creativity...and thank you for not buring down any houses!!
Students will be having a unit test on Friday, March 27.
* Remember the track meet on Thursday. Please pack a lunch.

We began our Tuesday by comleting Day 3 of Centers. Just a reminder to students...work on the activities that you don't get completed. Don't leave them all to the last day.
We began discussion pertaining to our next unit in math: Geometry. Students were asked to define a few words to kick off our unit. We then took some time to explore with geoboards and try to configure shapes that have only two parallel lines. The geometry unit is a fun filled unit with a lot of hands on activities and Smartboard exploration!!
