Students worked extremely hard continuing with our mental math strategies for multiplication. We worked in partners today to demonstrate long multiplication using base ten blocks. Students also have 2 more days to master their multiplication tables!!
Students will be bringing home their interview times today. If there is a time that does not work for you, please let me know as soon as possible so we can see if we can make some changes. I can't guarantee anything as I have scheduled times based on siblings, and other interviews.

We began our day with Day 1 of a new set of Centers. Some students are working to get last week activities completed.
We spent extra time today on math as I want to make sure the Mental Math strategies we are working on are understood by the students. We discussed the assignment from page 90 and 91. Students put their answers on the board and we discussed what strategies they used to get their answers. We also worked on these strategies in partners before attempting a short sheet of questions on our own.

Students completed Centers Day 2 this morning. Great job guys and gals!!
We also worked on our Puppet Dialogue stories. Most groups are working on their final copies.
Students handed in yesterday's math assignment. I will be collecting more "every day" math assignments to ensure that homework is completed. In order for students to understand the math concepts, it is very important that homework is completed the day it is assigned to ensure that students don't get left behind in the next day's activities.
Students are working on p 82 and 83 (1ab, 2bc, 5, 7abc, 9abc, 12).
Remember...book orders are due tomorrow!

I hope that everyone had a great Halloween!! If you are sending treats to school in your child's lunch, please send 1-2 items only.
We started out our day today with a new set of Centers. Students are working hard at some of the same stations we had last week while starting new stations this week. Great job!!
We then worked on our small group dialogue stories. We are getting close to wrapping up this assignment.
In math, we corrected last Friday's assignment. The students continue to develop strategies for multilpication and division. The assignment from today is from page 78-79 (2,7,8,10). This week's goal for our Multiplication Mania is the 6 and 7 times tables. Keep on practicing!!
In social studies, we labelled a map of Canada with the provinces and territories and their capital cities. We also spent some time with our partners to work on the Symbols of Canada readings and questions.
Please make sure to sign your child's agenda every day. Students need to get in the habit of using their agenda's to help them stay organized. This trait will serve them well next year when they switch over to the high school.
