Sorry that I missed yesterday's post. I was at a Literacy meeting in Yorkton.

We started off our day today with our school Assembly. We had a wonderful presentation from the Karate club in which some of our students provided the school with a great presentation! Great job!! I was quite impressed!!

To finish off our morning, we worked to complete the Problem Solver that we have been working on. The students did an awesome job!! Again, I was impressed!!

In Writing, we talked about how we choose ideas once again. We took it a step further today. We talked about how to narrow our ideas once we have a good one that we think we could work with. For example, instead of writing about Halloween, I might choose to write about the clown make-up I had for Halloween one year. Students had the opportunity to choose an idea of their own, and narrow the topic. We then wrote about our new topics.

After lunch, we completed Math Pods. At the computer station, students worked in pairs to play Algebra Four. At the rug, Mrs. Lippai worked with the students to practice equations. Students worked in partners. They each had a wipe board in which they wrote an equation. Their partner had to try and solve the equation.
At the back table, students handed in yesterday's math assignment. We then reviewed yesterday's rug activity. Students were then assigned page 24/25 (1,2,4). This assignment is due for tomorrow.

To finish up our day, students had Phys. Ed. with Mr. Leidl.

We read the next chapter in Hatchet. We also worked on the reading strategy "Predicting" as students wrote on sticky notes what they predict will happen next in the story.

Great day today boys and girls!! You all worked very hard today and I'm very proud of you!! Yahoo!!!
