As the weather took a turn for the worse today, the Grade 5's continued to work hard! We started a new set of Centers this morning. Students wrote Lesson 22 spelling test, as well as wrote this week's TWAS.
After recess, students completed 3 stations during 6+1 Writing. At station 1, students worked in partners to use the online resources to find "juicey words" for a number of given, over-used words. At station 2, students worked to add juicier words to a piece of their writing they completed a few weeks ago. The third station had students using the color words we compiled earlier in the week to describe a picture displayed on the SMARTboard.
Our afternoon started with Math Pods. At station 1, students worked with Mrs. Rice to begin working on a Fraction Sundae. Students are creating a sundae and writing the fraction that demonstrates the flavor of ice cream they are using. At station 2, students used manipulatives to create fractions. Students then took pictures of these fractions. The third station was on the computer and gave students a chance to choose from any of the links from the blog.
We finished up our Friday with Phys Ed and read aloud.
Have a great weekend everyone!! Hopefully we can all stay warm!
