What a beautiful day!! Some of the students enjoyed a full day of cross-country skiing!
We started off our day with day 4 of Centers. Those students that went skiing today will have to catch up on the centers they missed.
After recess, we completed Math Pods. At station 1, students worked in pairs to try to solve some "Wacky Graphs" that use equivalent fractions. At station 2, students were introduced to drawing a fraction using a number line. Station 3 was the computer station.
We finished our morning with a short class of 6+1 Writing. We discussed how some of the words in our writing will now be added to our "RIP Words" poster. These are words that students will not be able to use in their writing as they are often over used. Students will be challenged to use the writing tools we've been using in class to find "juicier" words.
After lunch, we worked on our Social Studies research project. Students have each chosen an explorer we have talked about at some point in the unit. Students will then be researching and writing an expository research report on this explorer.
Our day finished up with French, Read Aloud, and Phys Ed.
Have a great weekend everyone!!
