Our morning began with April assembly. Many Gillen students showcased their musical talents for the school!
After assembly, we completed a Computations page in Math. Students are continuing to practice their adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing skills as these will be demonstrated on the upcoming AFL's. Please encourage your child to practice their multiplication table as many students need a refresher with these computations.
In Science, we completed three stations. Students at station 1 worked on a Mechanical Systems handout that had students idenitying different systems from various pictures. Students then had to explain the purpose of these systems. A second station discussed the term components and how mechanical systems are affected. Lastly, students played a Simple Machines game on the computers.
In Math, students completed pods. At one station, students completed a worksheet converting fractions to decimals. At a second station, we discussed how to compare decimals using a number line. The third station was on the computer comparing decimals.
Our day wrapped up with Phys Ed and read aloud.
